Summer In Méribel

If you’ve only considered visiting Méribel in the winter, you my friend, are missing out. With blissful weather (think 24 to 27 degrees with low humidity and cool nights) and a list of activities to do for the whole family that far outnumber winter’s snowy occupations; summer is stealing the show.

Tame the elements: As the snow from the mountains melts and heads toward the rivers, some amazing rapids start making their appearance in the valley. And the best way to experience these waters? By a white water rafting trip on the infamous Doron de Bozel river, of course.

Or better yet, try your hand at fly fishing in the beautiful Lac Tueda…

Hike The Trails: Choose from short, family friendly strolls on wide paths to more advanced hikes to lakes, glaciers and alpine meadows. Experience the natural beauty of the mountains and keep your eyes open for chamois, ibexes and marmots.

Get involved in various events: Méribel offers a non-stop lineup of exciting events throught the summer months. From festivals and local fairs to cultural happenings and sports competitions, there’s sure to be something to keep you entertained – and the kids too, who’ll be running free during the school summer holidays.

Hitch a ride up the mountains: Ideal for hikers and bikers and every one in between, the well developed lift system is a great way to access all of the mountain trails. Sporty and non-sporty types alike will enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views over the Alps which make for an iconic Méribel photo op.

Indulge in delicious culinary experiences: Save room in your itinerary to linger al fresco over an expertly prepared meal at one of Méribel’s many top-notch restaurants. Prepare to have your palate pleased.

Get a retail therapy fix: Spend an afternoon strolling Méribel Centre Chaudanne and browsing outdoor clothing, ski gear, accessories, food, unique gifts and more. Time for some serious retail therapy.

Take your game to a higher level: Simply hitting a golf ball at an altitude of 1850 metres can be worth the green fees at Méribel’s magnificent 18 hole course, often described as one of the most beautiful mountain courses in France, with wonderful views of the Saulire peaks and the Méribel valley.

Defy gravity: I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky…Méribel paragliding’s certified pilots will take you on a tandem flight for the ultimate bird’s eye view. Nothing quite beats the rush of gliding through the air surrounded by glorious alpine scenery.

Push some pedals: The Méribel Bike Park is definitely worth a visit for mountain biking addicts and amateurs alike. With 31km of downhill tracks, 104km of enduro and more than 26km of cross-country tracks, mountain biking around Méribel is the perfect way to add a memorable experience to your summer holiday.

Don’t have a bike? No problem: rent bikes, helmets, and other gear from one of Méribel many local sports shops.

Slow down the pace: Leave some time to relax and recharge during your Méribel summer holidays. Breathe in the fresh air and find your zen during scheduled yoga classes or treat yourself to pampering spa treatments.

Find family fun around every corner: Challenge your skills on a variety of thrilling family-friendly activities like paintball, adventure courses, horse riding and so much more. In case of raining, head up to the Méribel Olympic Park for countless indoor amenities — think indoor swimming pool, bowling, climbing tower and a huge indoor ice rink.

PS: Kids and teens can also attend fun drop-in, daily, weekly camps and programs to get away from the “old folks”, meet new friends and have a bit of fun on their own.

Basically, just get there!
